Yaneeda wanted to create a smart portal that connected travel buyers with local incoming tour operators – all in a secure and controlled environment providing consumers a first class experience at a lower cost.

Case study:

Typically consumers buy from travel agents in their own country. These agents work with local tour operators who organize travel to the various regions – at their travel destinations. Yaneeda wants to act as the agent in a number of countries and work directly with the consumers on selected destinations.

The challenge was not to build yet another travel portal but offer customers a varity of other features, like showing the most relevant tour to a buyer based on their choice and demand. Once they select which tour they want, the portal will then allow them to customize their itinerary depending on their schedule. Once these parameters have been identified, the negotiation/communication with local tour operators occurs. System also needed to offer paying a deposit at the time of booking and the remainder amount a select time period before travel.

On top of this, the challenge was to install a language layer for the site to open up in different countries with their local language.

To develop this complex travel portal, personalization of tours, multi-lingual capabilities and integration with Europe’s largest payment gateway -- Blisstering evaluated all possible solutions to build this solution and chose Drupal as the right technology. As part of the development, Blisstering installed the powerful ApacheSolr search engine to search & list the best suited results to the consumers.
